TEACHERS' WEEK 2010

Date: Monday Sep 13, 2010

Teachers from all over St. Lucia preparing to celebrate Teachers' Week 2010. This year Teachers' Week is held under the theme; Recovery Begins with Teachers.  This is a very timely theme as we have witnessed the collapse of many world economies. St. Lucia’ s economy is struggling to weather this economic storm. Additionally, we have also seen the collapse of our moral fabric. Crime has escalated and many of our traditional values are being thrown out the window. Teachers therefore are invaluable to the recovery process. It will require continued dedication and hard work. If there is any hope for our society teachers must be at the core of the recovery process.

This year the St. Lucia Teachers' Union hopes that Teachers' Week celebration will be more meanful and celebrated by all stake holders in the Education System. A week of activities have been planned.
